At Pacifecon, our nationwide research team are always pulling together reports that are free-of-charge. These reports cover a range of different topics.

2026 Local Government Reform Report

The researchers have compiled a report on the latest local government reforms. Some of the new legislation that is being introduced includes local government system improvements focusing core services: networks infrastructure, public transport, waste, civil defence and community facilities. There is also the introduction of a Planning Act, a Natural Environment Act and a possible Enforcement Act – the result of these acts would be more plans to be prepared by council.

Local Water Done Well

Three Waters has been repealed and Local Water Done Well has taken its place. Pacifecon’s team of 31 nationwide researchers have been busy dissecting the Government’s new plans to address the long-standing water infrastructure challenges. The team have broken down how they must deliver water services, what all this means for New Zealand organisations and stats on what the water pipeline looks like at the start of 2025.
